The author's team of the monograph - the leaders, scientists custodians of standards M.V. Balakhanov, R.I. Uzdin, V.I. Pruglo, V.Z. Manevich, V.N. The manual introduces the basics of physical metrology with examples of radiophysical standards. The book contains information about the techniques of metrology in radio electronics, its features, achievements. The main focus is on the application of physical laws and the latest achievements of physics and radio electronics in the creation of measuring instruments of higher accuracy.

Creation and improvement of the reference base in the field of radio-frequency electromagnetic measurements.

Authors - V.A. Tishchenko, M.V. Balakhanov, V.I. Lukyanov, V.A. Perepyolkin, I.P. Chirkov, S.A. Kolotygin, A.V. Mylnikov - presented the results of work on the creation and improvement of the primary standards for the country, carried out in the Electromagnetic Measurement Department of FSUE “VNIIFTRI”. The book was prepared during the period when the department completed an important stage in the creation and modernization of the reference base related to its optimization and actualization in accordance with the requirements of the priority directions of development of the country's economy and high technologies.

The experience of improving, creating and putting into effect eight state standards presented in the book shows that metrologists were able to successfully cope with the difficulties associated with recovering losses in the reference database in the early 1990s, the need to master new areas of measurement.

The content of the book reveals the results of work on the creation and improvement of the state radiofrequency electromagnetic standards, which allowed us to obtain the metrological characteristics of domestic standards, compared in accuracy with the best foreign national standards, confirmed by key comparisons that take place under the auspices of the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM). In addition to the chapters containing materials for each standard, the book contains verification schemes headed by primary standards, as well as lines of the calibration capabilities of the KSDB database, supported by them.

Under the direction of the compilers, one of the organizers of the State Time and Frequency Service in the country, the creator and permanent academic custodian of the State Primary Standard of Time, Frequency and National Time Scale for more than forty years. Pushkin and Deputy Chief for Research of the GMC GSUCH VG Palchikova - Leading employees of the GMC GSVCH and the time service of the VNIIFTRI branches took part in the preparation of the book.

The book summarizes the results of the 55-year-old activity of the GSVCH in our country, reveals the main stages of its formation and development, primarily in providing reference signals of time and frequency of scientific, economic consumers.

The publication introduces the work of the Main Metrological Center (GMC GSVCH), whose functions are performed by the research department of GMC GSVCH FSUE VNIIFTRI.

The description of the reference base of time and frequency of the GSVCH, the composition of the instrumental complex of the State primary standard of time and frequency, the infrastructure of its uninterrupted work is given.

Separate chapters are devoted to systems of transmitting reference signals of frequency and time over radio communication and television channels using fiber optic communication channels and space duplex channels, as well as methods and means of determining the parameters of the Earth's rotation (SPVD), measurements of large and superlarge lengths. The role of the GSTVC in the complexes of fundamental and metrological support of GLONASS is particularly emphasized. The first results of the modernization of the GFChV throughout the territory of Russia are given.

As emphasized in the preface to the publication, the book will be of interest to a wide range of specialists whose work is related to research in the field of time and frequency. It will also be useful to young professionals and scientists who are preparing to link their future creative activity with one of the most important and sought-after areas of measurement.

The topic of the publication was determined by the decision of the 6th International Symposium "Metrology of Time and Space", held in September 2012 in the Moscow region. The symposium was organized by Rosstandard and FSUE “VNIIFTRI”, performing the functions of the Main Metrological Center of the State Time Service, frequency and determining the parameters of the Earth's rotation.

Published reports detail the most pressing issues of meeting the needs of science and technology in legalized information on the exact time, reference frequencies and parameters of the Earth's rotation.

The main part of the work is devoted to the development prospects of the metrological and fundamental support of GLONASS. The importance of improving the accuracy of time-frequency and coordinate definitions in space satellite navigation systems, the development of optical frequency standards in ground and airborne versions is noted. New directions of metrological support of global satellite navigation systems are being determined.

The handbook describes the characteristics of 104 neutron fields (spectrum, flux density, fluence, dose, number or speed of nuclear dosimetric reactions, etc.), 50 nuclear-physical facilities (nuclear reactors, critical assemblies and neutron generators), which are widely used to solve important scientific and technical problems in the nuclear industry.

The characteristics of the neutron fields of nuclear physical installations (NFM) are determined by the standardized neutron activation method according to the CASCADE program. The handbook also contains differential cross sections for nuclear reactions that took place in neutron-irradiated detectors, decay constants for radioactive nuclides — products of neutron activation of detectors (half-lives, radiation composition) that were used to reconstruct the neutron spectra of NFU.

V.D. Sevast'yanov, “Modeling Neutron Support Fields for Metrological Support of Neutron Measurements at Nuclear Physical Installations of the Russian Federation”. Monograph. - Mendeleevo: FSUE VNIIFTRI, 2015.

The book is devoted to the actual problem of the creation and study of modeling reference fields (MOS) of neutrons directly on nuclear-physical facilities (NFU).

The author of the monograph is V.D., Doctor of Technical Sciences, full member of the Metrological Academy of the Russian Federation. Sevastyanov, one of the representatives of the scientific metrology school of the FSUE “VNIIFTRI”, is a well-known in the country and abroad expert in the field of neutron spectrometry at nuclear power plants, who has devoted more than thirty years to research and implementation of the above problem.

The created MOS system of neutrons at YFU, based on the principle of reproducing units of flux density and neutron fluence consistent with the State Primary Special Reference Model (GPES), meets the current requirements of the practice of neutron measurements in the Russian Federation.

The book briefly discusses the main aspects of theoretical and experimental research carried out by the author in the process of creating MOS neutrons at NFU. A description of the upgraded GPES, technical and metrological characteristics of the standard components are given: sources of thermal and monoenergetic neutrons with an energy of 14 MeV, reference radiometric installations for measuring the activity of α-, γ- and X-radiation of neutron-activation and division detectors; neutron detectors and methods for reproducing and transmitting the size of units from the standard.

The role and place of the created MOS neutrons in the state system for ensuring the unity of neutron measurements at NFU in the Russian Federation is justified, and the results of the conducted research of the MOS neutrons system are given.

A number of studies have been carried out on the validity of the formation of a priori spectra in the MOS of a number of NFUs using: the spectra of inelastic neutron scattering in the center of the metal active zone of pulsed fast reactors; elastic and inelastic scattering spectra in moderating media of nuclear reactors. In order to confirm the chosen method of forming the a priori spectrum, the dependence of the ratio of the instantaneous neutron yields of symmetric and asymmetric fission of 235U and 238U isotopes on the neutron energy causing fission has been investigated.

The created MOS neutrons are analyzed for solving a number of important scientific and technical problems. According to the analysis of these MOS neutrons, a recommendation was made to use the spectra of the neutron fields in the center of the metal AZ of pulsed fast reactors as standard along with the spectra of instantaneous neutrons of spontaneous fission of 252Cf and fission of 235U by thermal neutrons.

For the first time in the world, the measured neutron spectrum at the Mir orbital station allowed the author to draw the following conclusions together with the specialists of MBI and RSC Energia in the field of biomedical research in space:

• the largest contribution to the total neutron flux density and the resulting equivalent dose power are neutrons with energies from 100 keV to 100 MeV, the quality factor of neutrons reaches its maximum value (about 10) in the region of 1.0 MeV;

• the excess of the number of neutrons with a protection thickness of 40 g / cm2 over the number of neutrons with a thickness of 20 g / cm2 is 30–40% in a wide range of measured neutron energies; 

• when estimating equivalent doses only from neutrons with energies from 1 MeV to 15 MeV (as was done in earlier studies), about 30% of the neutron dose was determined, which indicates the need for further experiments in a wider than before energy range neutrons, mainly from 100 keV to 100 MeV.

• According to the results of studies of the neutron spectrum at the Mir orbital station, the author created a MOS neutron at a 14 MeV reference neutron source using a special neutron radiation transformer for calibration of dosimetric equipment installed at orbital space stations.

The book is of undoubted interest for researchers, engineers, graduate students and university students specializing in spectrometry and dosimetry of neutron radiation, radiation of radiation effects of neutron radiation on objects, in metrology of neutron radiation, in the study of the physics of protection of nuclear physics.

Isaev A.E. "Accurate calibration of sound pressure receivers in the aquatic environment under free field conditions." - Monograph. - Mendeleevo: FSUE VNIIFTRI. - 2008, 369 p.

The monograph is devoted to methods of improving the accuracy of standards for reproducing and transmitting the size of a unit of sound pressure in an aqueous medium under free-field conditions. The theory and practical implementation of the calibration methods are detailed, taking into account the influence of scattering reflections and secondary radiation on the distortion of the sound field at the point of reception. Methods for calibrating sound pressure receivers used to measure underwater noise levels in frequency bands are considered.

Kistovich A.V. Introduction to hydrodynamics and acoustics of the ocean. - Monograph. - Mendeleevo: FSUE VNIIFTRI. - 2011, 275 s.

The book reflects the state of metrology of hydroacoustic measurements and the experience of scientific research conducted at VNIIFTRI in the decade preceding the release of the book.

The fundamentals of hydrodynamics of liquid media, including inhomogeneous ones, are described as applied to the problems of describing wave motions on the surface and in the bulk of a liquid. Labor outlines the fundamentals of hydrodynamics, talks about the properties of acoustic phenomena encountered by researchers of the oceans.

The concept of a continuous medium is introduced, which determines its thermodynamic characteristics, which later act as physical fields for careful study. Much attention is paid to the problem of convective instability of stratified media.

Particular attention is paid to the description of the main acoustic phenomena occurring in the ocean. On the basis of the mathematical model of linear acoustics, the basic concepts of the wave and ray theory of sound are introduced. The phenomena at the interfaces between media and the propagation of sound waves in areas with varying sound speed are considered in detail.

Maslov V.K. Modern technologies for analyzing and processing information in physicotechnical measurements. -Monograph. - Mendeleevo: FSUE VNIIFTRI. - 2010, 583 p.

This fundamental work is devoted to the actual problem of our day - modern measuring technologies associated with the emergence of a new class of measuring "intelligent" computer measuring instruments based on the widespread use of digital computing.

The monograph presents fundamental and applied research on the development of highly efficient methods for analyzing the processing of physical and technical information, methods and means of measuring parameters of physical fields of complex objects based on new physical principles, computer science, metrology (tomography, holography, etc.).

Methods for analyzing the fine spectral-temporal structure of non-stationary acoustic sources based on the use of Wigner's time-frequency distributions are described. An important place is given to the creation of efficient signal analysis algorithms that simultaneously provide spectral and temporal resolution of non-stationary signals. Basic time-frequency determinations, models of the observed signals are given.

From a unified position, the author was able to present the theory and methods for solving tomography problems based on various physical effects and their various models.

The analysis of the methodological errors of measuring systems. It is shown that in this case, there are non-trivial solutions of fundamentally new and extremely complex metrological tasks for creating a new class of receiving measurement systems, methods for coherent spatial-temporal processing of results to obtain a detailed acoustic sample of an object and environment.

An extensive bibliography list containing more than 320 titles is given.

Published reports and other materials highlight the state and prospects for improving the metrological support of hydroacoustic measurements in the country, its regulatory and technical foundations. The experience of developing effective methods for reproducing sound pressure in the aquatic environment, graduating hydrophones, creating and improving state, secondary and working standards is analyzed.

An important place is given to methods and means of measuring parameters of hydroacoustic fields.

A number of works are devoted to metrological assurance of the parameters of the ultrasonic field in the aquatic environment in the megahertz frequency range. The issues raised in them are of great importance for the safety and effectiveness of the use of ultrasonic medical equipment.

Among the VNIIFTRI publications of the past five years are three books related to the names of people who have made an invaluable contribution to the development of the institute, the initiators of creating new scientific directions.

In the preparation and publication of the book Markov A.I. Contractometry and research of concrete hardening processes. Selected Works. - Mendeleevo: FSUE VNIIFTRI. - 2012, 375 s. the decision of the management was taken into account to acquaint with the work of one of the creators of the new scientific direction - building metrology, who for many years headed the department of metrology in the construction of VNIIFTRI, Alexander Ivanov untimely deceased. The book contains material that is unique in its scientific and practical significance.



Sam A.I. Markov expressed the hope that the theory of the strength of brittle materials being developed by him would also have “practical applications in the form of instruments for monitoring the fundamental characteristics of these materials and methods of their use in order to ensure the metrology of the construction industry”.

The book theoretically and experimentally substantiates the idea of ​​the density of the crystalline hydrate aggregate (SCG) as the main parameter that determines the strength characteristics of concrete at all stages of their hardening. The basic methods and apparatus for the continuous determination of the density of SCG, based on the measurement of the contraction volume in the process of concrete hardening, are described. The normative-technical documents that laid the foundations of metrological support for practical use are presented. The solution of a number of important tasks is stated, on the basis of which it is possible to ensure that the specified tensile strengths of concrete are achieved by the required time in advance under the specific conditions of their hardening.

Particular attention is paid to the regulation of the scale factor of concrete strength. A system of conditions for the destruction of concrete in a complex stress state was obtained.

Agaletsky P.N. General questions of metrology. Selected Works. - Mendeleevo: FSUE VNIIFTRI. - 2009, 143 p.

The book publishes selected works of a well-known metrological scientist, devoted to the study of general issues of metrology, its content and objectives. The works cover the basic concepts of metrology. The issues of dependencies between the quantities, measurement classification, assessment of the accuracy of measuring instruments and other relevant issues of metrology are discussed.

A.I. Mehannikov “Introduction to Metrology. Fundamentals of measurement unity. - Monograph. - Mendeleevo: FSUE VNIIFTRI. –2013, 292 p.

The author notes as the main trend of metrology in the last decade the revision of the definitions of basic physical quantities and the materialization of the corresponding standards with the introduction of tunnel and other quantum effects in them. Thus, the unity of the microworld becomes the service of the unity of measurements.

The book outlines the new achievements of physical metrology, the principles of operation of the original measuring instruments, as well as some physical experiments that are contiguous in their formulation and approaches to precision metrological measurements. Some organizational, methodological and legislative issues of metrological activity are also briefly reviewed.

Of practical interest to metrologists is the book published in 2011 by A.I. Mekhannikov. “Statistical methods for processing measurement results. Handbook for metrologists. - Mendeleevo: FSUE VNIIFTRI. - 2011, 67 p.

The manual outlines some statistical data processing methods used by metrologists and experimenters when performing precision measurements. The focus is on the sampling method, widely used in assessing the accuracy of measurement results, in distance and regression analyzes and in other sections of applied statistics. There are also some recipes related to the so-called sustainable (robust) processing methods.

The author’s goal is to equip young metrologists and researchers with basic information from those sections of applied statistics that they encounter when making measurements, and hopes that the book will cause young people to take up some fundamental work on this beautiful and exciting field of knowledge. The book of one of the prominent representatives of the Scientific Metrology School of the VNIIFTRI, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Honored Metrologist of the Russian Federation V.K. Maslov, who has devoted more than three and a half decades to the study of this problem.

The book of memoirs about an outstanding scientist, genius mechanics, State Prize laureate, Academician Sergey Alekseevich Khristianovich, who worked at VNIIFTRI from 1965 to 1972. The Institute has acquired a different, higher status. Postgraduate studies were created, the basic department of MIPT of physical, technical and radio engineering measurements. Thanks to the influence of S.A. Under the scientific leadership of Academician Khristianovich, solid foundations were laid at the institute that enabled him to enter the top five leading metrological institutes of the world.
